I’m so fucking angry right now with the buses holy shit straight up waste of an hour just waiting for and in this stupid transportation system here I’m going to be late for my event too.
Anyway, eventually made it to the board game event, and I met some interesting people — people who weren’t working in the most glamorous of industries per se, but still had a lot of the characteristics in the way they were talking and such of people that I’ve known from more “educated” industries I guess? It just went to reduce the perception I had that people who I think are “interesting” or play a lot of board games and are like very culturally aware in areas that I appreciate don’t have to be from a certain class of society.
Afterwards, I went and hung out with Jath and Dan for about an hour and a half, we talked about all kinds of shit including our travel plans, SciFi books, SciFi movies, Russian literature, and more. Afterwards, I got food with Jath, which was interesting as well. I got to learn a bit about his personality, how he’s direct but not aggressively so, and the way he said that I will notice things but not call out people on them (or something along those lines) suggested that he knew when I cut the line before on the very first day, I was lying. I talked to him about his time in the Singapore military, his thoughts on American policy and American politics, and more. It was a very interesting conversation.
