Last night, I found this thing called Rustlings that has live tutorials for different aspects of programming in Rust, and I worked on that for a pretty long time! Before that, I was supposed to be preparing for my call with research people, but didn’t spend that much time on that, instead using this as my week where I said I wouldn’t be able to do that much work. The actual call went okay, but I think especially with Lucas, honesty is not the best policy—it is better for me to bring up the modicum of work that I was able to do, and build off of that, rather than be honest about the availability that I had over the previous week, especially where it’s the type of situation where I’m not interacting with him regularly, and he doesn’t really have the kind of context that would make it easier for him to relate to what I was saying.

Before that, I had my Akuna Capital interview, and it went reasonably well—it was heavily math-centric, involving a question about the mean and variance about the absolute value of the standard normal distribution, and a question about linear algebra and steady state behavior once you apply a matrix to a vector and normalize it, and keep repeating that operation. I’m not sure how it will go in the long run, but she seemed pretty happy in general.

Before, I hung out with Mulan, Harini and Quetza, and did some planning for the Glasgow trip. Before that, I was with Mulan in Appleton, wasn’t the most efficient with my time but was able to finish the coursework for CS.

Not sure what I did in the morning tbh.
