I want to become someone who finishes meaningful things each day

I want to make finishing things for work (and then writing about / reflecting on exactly what I did) part of my identity. This is who I am. It’s not a habit that I have.

I also need to have the systems in place that let me do this effectively. What are those systems?

  1. A better way than Things of keeping track what I worked on each day.
  2. A better way than Rescuetime for determining exactly how much time I spent on what each day. (Not sure if this is necessary).
  3. Having a better journaling system, so that I’m very aware of what I’m spending time on each day and where the time is going.
  4. Having the determination to spend time after work to make sure that the stuff that needs to get done, gets done. It doesn’t necessarily mean I have a bad work-life balance. It just means that when I know I need to get stuff done, I get it done, without compromising on other things.
