I want to become someone who finishes meaningful things each day

I want to make finishing things for work (and then writing about / reflecting on exactly what I did) part of my identity. This is who I am. It’s not a habit that I have.
I also need to have the systems in place that let me do this effectively. What are those systems?
- A better way than Things of keeping track what I worked on each day.
- A better way than Rescuetime for determining exactly how much time I spent on what each day. (Not sure if this is necessary).
- Having a better journaling system, so that I’m very aware of what I’m spending time on each day and where the time is going.
- Having the determination to spend time after work to make sure that the stuff that needs to get done, gets done. It doesn’t necessarily mean I have a bad work-life balance. It just means that when I know I need to get stuff done, I get it done, without compromising on other things.
