Snowboarding Experience On The Ski Trip

  • The biggest takeaway for me was to think of your tail edge as a rudder for a boat, and to think of moving the rudder back and forth as you would on a boat. This helped with making my turns shorter.
  • It’s also useful to count the seconds in your head for the turns you’re making. For example, give yourself 2-3 seconds for both heel and toe turns. When doing this, I realized that I naturally spend more time on toe turns than heel turns, which I should try to correct.
  • When speeding up my turns, I realized that I naturally sit down a bit when on my turn and stand up when transitioning from my heel to my toe and vice versa.
