Feeling More Confident After Promo

Since I found out that I got promoted to an L4 software engineer six days ago, I’ve been a lot more confident, willing to speak up in public forums, and just felt wayyyy more validated in my thought process, processes, and generally the way that I carry myself around work. I didn’t expect that I would react this way; I didn’t think that external validation would affect me so much, but here we are. I guess the #takeaway here is that I am someone who is definitely affected by external validation for things that I’m not already confident in, and the way I was spending my time at work was definitely something I was not inherently comfortable about.
