London

First day of London trip! Train was very early in the morning, and our first impression was extremely positive. The trains were extremely clean, well-organized, with all the facilities that you could ask for being present. The views on the trip on the way there were fantastic as well. Once we got there, we roamed around King’s cross fora. while, checked out Platform 9 3/4 and the Harry Potter memorabilia shop adjacent to it, then walked along some of the markets near King’s cross and got some snacks (I got this flatbread that was stuffed with pasta and cheese, mulan got a chicken samosa). Then, we went over to Dishoom, which was frankly overrated but still pretty decent. We got this cool spicy sherbet that was pretty good, and in terms of food, I got chana puri, mulan got this lamb dish, and we ordered the gunpowder potatoes. The puri was underwhelming, and I had to order extra. We also got this bhaang lassi with mint instead of hemp, which was actually pretty good. After Dishoom, went to St Paul’s cathedral, where we listened to the choral evensong. It was a very interesting experience, especially the echos in the chamber and the physical tools and strategies employed to make a person seem spiritually closer to god. After the evensong, we walked across this walking bridge, not sure what it’s called, to end up on the other side of the bridge (south bank), and we decided to go to Tate Modern. It was pretty cool and some pieces of the art really struck me (there was one where there were videos of different demonstrations or protests where the author was just standing by and observing different things and not participating which I thought was super cool, and there was another video piece where there were videos of homophobic violence in Serbia and croatia and a dance group of four people doing demonstrative movements mirroring to some extent the violence on the right side. There was also a books piece about immigrants influence on British culture, and a few other cool ones. After Tate modern, we walked across a bit more and went to this Ramen place, where I got this curry ramen with mushroom that I actually tried eating. The ramen was absolutely amazing, I was a huge fan. We got this dessert, this ice cream sandwich thing as well, which was great. Absolutely fantastic meal. Walked over to the Sky Garden, which was super bougie and expensive and a cool experience. Made out with @mulan in relative public, which was super cool as well. Went over to the Airbnb and pretty much slept.
