Three pretty big things happened to me, in the same day - my internship ended, I found out that I got an internship from Amazon, and I found out that I got Data 100 TA offer as well. Lot of things in quick succession, that frankly are going to change how I’m thinking about the next semester, and probably the next couple years as well. I’m kind of on the same playing field as the other people that I respect, in some sense? Being involved with research, having a TA position, having an internship in a Big N company, etc. I don’t have to look at all these other people with the awe and to some extent, jealousy that I would think about them before, and be more proud and accepting about the aspects of my personality that are different from everyone else, and use them to my advantage.
Played cricket for a long time with family - lost a couple balls, and we tried to play with the smaller balls, but my dad kept missing them. Made me realize the impact of age — my parents are truly getting older, and although it seems like they might stay the same way they are forever, their bodies and health are physically changing, and I’m going to have to understand that and make sure to support them through it.
Also played Pandemic with family, and it was such a shit, boring game, we literally stopped playing in between. I ordered two new games today — Patchwork (played it with Donald, and it was pretty fun) and Dead of Winter, which is a game that I’d been eyeing for a long time in Games of Berkeley, and I finally decided to pull the trigger. Pretty excited to play it, we’ll see how it goes.
